ZLINE 36 in. 21.6 cu. ft Freestanding French Door Refrigerator with Water and Ice Dispenser in Fingerprint Resistant Stainless Steel (RFM-W-36) [Color: Fingerprint Resistant Black Stainless Steel] - (RFMW36BS)

Overview

The ZLINE 36 in. 21.6 cu. ft. French door refrigerator RFMW36BS is built for kitchens that take both design and performance seriously. It comes in a fingerprint-resistant black stainless finish with 21.6 cu. ft. of total storage across a fresh food section, a bottom freezer, and a flex drawer you can set to four different temperature modes.

Built-in water and ice dispenser, four interior lights, Energy Star certification at 658 kWh per year, and a noise level of 43 dB. At 284.4 lbs., this 36 inch refrigerator sits at 29 inches installation depth — fitting standard US kitchen cutouts without requiring a counter-depth recess.

Why You'll Love It

• 21.6 cu. ft. total capacity: 15.04 cu. ft. for fresh food, 6.6 cu. ft. freezer, and a 2.6 cu. ft. flex drawer. This 36 inch refrigerator holds enough for a household that shops properly and cooks regularly.
• Flex drawer with four temperature modes: Set it to Meat (30 degrees), Beverage (34 degrees), Deli (37 degrees), or Wine (41 degrees) depending on what you need to store. No more compromising on storage temperature for different food types.
• Built-in water and ice dispenser: The ZLINE 36 in. French door external water dispenser refrigerator delivers filtered water at 0.5 GPM and up to 4.85 lbs. of ice per day, on demand without opening the fridge.
• Fingerprint-resistant black stainless finish: The dark matte surface hides fingerprints and smudges far better than standard stainless. It looks clean with minimal effort and gives the kitchen a more contemporary feel.
• Energy Star certified: The ZLINE 36 in. 21.6 cu. ft. French door refrigerator is certified at 658 kWh per year. For an appliance that runs continuously, that matters for long-term running costs.
• Quiet operation at 43 dB: One of the quieter refrigerators in the 36-inch French door category. Close to library-level noise, which makes a real difference in open-plan kitchens and living spaces.
• Humidity-controlled crispers: Two crisper drawers manage humidity automatically to keep produce fresh longer.
• Four interior lights: The entire interior is well lit. No dark corners, no guessing what is on the back shelf.

Key Specifications

Dimensions and Capacity

The ZLINE 36 in. French door RFMW36BS measures 35.75 inches wide, 69.69 inches tall, and 29 inches deep at installation depth. With the door open 90 degrees, the depth extends to 43 inches — confirm you have this clearance in front of the unit before ordering.

This stainless steel French door refrigerator fits standard 36-inch kitchen openings. It is not counter-depth, so it will protrude slightly beyond standard cabinet depth. If flush installation is a requirement, confirm the cabinet depth against the 29-inch installation dimension before ordering.

Total capacity of 21.6 cu. ft. breaks down as 15.04 cu. ft. in the fresh food section, 6.6 cu. ft. in the freezer, and 2.6 cu. ft. in the flex drawer. That is a generous split for a household of three to five people.

Installation and Warranty

The ZLINE 36 in. French door external water dispenser refrigerator RFMW36BS runs on a standard 115V/60Hz outlet. No special electrical work needed in most homes. It does require a water line connection for both the ice maker and dispenser. Confirm a water line is available before ordering.

At 284.4 lbs., professional delivery is not optional — it is strongly recommended. Varouj Appliances offers professional delivery and installation on this model. The team handles transport, positioning, leveling, and water line connection. Pricing is at checkout.

Allow adequate clearance on each side and at the top for ventilation, and confirm door swing clearance on both French door panels before the unit arrives. With the doors open 90 degrees, the depth extends to 43 inches.

The RFMW36BS is backed by a 1-year warranty on parts and service, plus a 5-year warranty on sealed system parts from ZLINE. Extended warranty options are available at checkout through Varouj Appliances.

Care and Maintenance

• Inside the fridge: A soft cloth and mild soapy water is all you need. Wipe it down, dry it off. Nothing abrasive on the shelves or drawer surfaces.
• Door seals: Give the gaskets a wipe every now and then. A clean seal means cold air stays in and the unit does not have to work harder than it should.
• Black stainless exterior: Damp microfiber cloth, wipe with the grain. The fingerprint-resistant coating does most of the work — you will find yourself cleaning it far less often than a standard stainless fridge.
• Condenser coils: Once or twice a year, vacuum or brush the coils. It takes a few minutes and makes a real difference to how efficiently the fridge runs over time.
• Water filter: Replace on the schedule in the product documentation. Keeps the dispenser flowing properly and the water tasting the way it should.
• Ice maker: Clean the ice maker and bin periodically. If the unit is going to sit unused for a while, switch the ice maker off and drain the water line.
• Crisper drawers: Pull them out, wash in warm soapy water when needed, dry fully before putting back.
