The original had a thicker felt strip and the top of the filter only had embossed looking holes/ports. The new one has actual holes at the top to let air through. Not sure if thats better or worse but it still gets filtered by the screen before leaving the machine. Works fine.

I had an aftermarket filter that would never fit right and was hard to remove and install so it rarely got cleaned by others. This OEM unit is perfect and fits perfectly easy to remove and install so it now gets cleaned regularly.

We have had our dryer less than two years and now we are having the same issue as everything else. This is ridiculous. I am reading years and years of issues with the lint filter on this review website.

We bought our LG dryer when we moved into our current home over a decade ago. The machine still works great after all this time but as all parents know kids are hard on everything. We taught our boys to do their own laundry but in so doing they wore out the original lint trap. Thankfully theyre out of the house now and finding this replacement on the LG site was easy. The part arrived in mint condition replaces the original perfectly and has been working great ever since.

Heat warped this item and now it longer fits flush it down into the dryer housing. So it catches garments and anything else dried in the dryer damaging them when they get wrapped and torqued. Poor quality for the high heat environment of a dryer.

Ive had a gas dryer since 2020 and need a new lint filter but the LG company cant help me get a new one. I tried messaging them but got transferred a few times and was told to buy it somewhere else. Awful customer service

I have had the same issue as the other reviews here: filter corner catches clothing causing them to twist to to the point of ripping as the dryer tumbles. 50 year of washing clothes and Ive never had this issue with any other dryer. Disappointing.

It took us a while to figure out the problem. I wear washable wrinkle free dress shirts for work. Shirt after shirt was ruined. Turns out its the lint filter. LG please contact us to arrange a replacement unit. This dryer is defective.

I am echoing what everyone else is saying- I came here to have this replaced and realized I wasnt the only one who has torn sheets and ruined clothes. LG really needs to fix this issue

This design is horrible and needs to be fixed ASAP. All clothes get stuck to the lifted corner and will be destroyed if you are not watching it to stop it.

The filter is not cracked or broken but it is not properly designed and sized so it doesnt fit. The corner protrudes clothes get hung on it then twisted and ripped.
The dryer is great the filter is terrible.
